Stripes are always a good idea.

Summer is coming and I bought myself an entire outfit. In my detoxing post I told you about this dress I bought. So here it is! This beautiful and sophisticated striped dress is from Zara, and I saw it on zara.com a couple weeks ago and it never left my mind. So Wednesday I finally bought it. And I am very happy with it.  And today I also bought these cool sunnies. I think they look classy yet edgy. I bought them in a store called Invito. My boyfriend also bought himself a pair, that way we would get 50% of of one item. Which is always a nice surprise. His sunglasses are also very cool, so I am definitely going to steal them some time hihi. And then these really cool slip-ons from H&M. It is quite a story actually. They were a present from my boyfriend a couple of weeks ago. He knew I wanted them for some weeks already. So he bought them for me just as a really nice surprise. But.. my shoe size normally is 39 (uk size 6), so obvious he bought them in that size. And when he gave them to me I couldn’t wait to wear them so I put them on and we went to the supermarket. Only when we came back my shoes gave me blisters on my feet and they really hurt.. so I ordered them online in a size 40 with the plan in the back of my head that I will bring the others back to the store. When the slip-ons finally arrived they were a tad to big unfortunately… So I went to the cobbler and he gave me insoles for the shoes and he also gave me some anti-slip stickers, which you stick on the inside of the shoe. You can see it on the picture! After that I went to H&M to bring the old ones back only to find out that there was a giant blue spot on one of the shoes! I was breaking out in sweat and already started to explain that I had no clue that that spot was even there… Fortunately they weren’t making any fuss out of it. So after all the drama and the uncertainty I can finally enjoy these great pair of slip-ons. Told you it was quite a story! Thank you again my love for the cute shoes! So tell me what you think of these great and lovely items.

Popping pieces

A spotted trend based on the pictures I saw on Stockholmstreetstyle.com, basic with a touch of color. I really like this trend especially because I like wearing simple colors and adding a pop of color to it with the help of a crazy accessory. Which could be a clutch or a pair of great heels, let the mind be creative. Color has never left the building but it is nice to see it with proportions, like these stylish peeps. It adds a twist to any outfit. If you are interested in this and you see yourself walking on the streets any time soon with a red clutch or a pair of bright yellow sunglasses, make sure you check zara.com, they recently added some stunning pieces which can make every outfit joyful. Finally, the perfect thing has arrived.

How do you call it when you have that complete feeling, because I am definitely feeling it right now.  I was talking with my mother and I told her that I was planning to buy a faux fur coat. She walked upstairs and she came down with this baby. It is a woven lamb coat, from PK by Pap'Kik which is a French brand. It shows somewhat darker on the pictures but it has a soft brown/beige colour. I was freaking excited! It fitted perfectly and it feels very soft. Plus I didn't had to subtract it from my clothing-money! My mom is always full of surprises, Isn't she amazing? I am very happy I can cross out another (oh yeah!) musthave from my wish list!

Finally mine

Complete satisfactory is my emotion of this day. Why? Today I went to H&M
for a quick look and I saw the thing I was looking for for so long. I have probably mentioned it a couple
of times already, but I can now proudly say I found the hat I wanted. It is a black woolen hat and
I can't wait to combine it with a faux fur coat and a black bag. That same black bag I bought as well!
I looked for something like this for quite a while and it was only 15 euro's so I couldn't just leave
it hanging there. What do you think?

Just a job..

So I had a job interview today and.. I don’t think I’m hired. Don’t think too big, it’s just a job at the local supermarket, but it pays better than my current job at a restaurant.
Let me begin with describing my work environment right now. I still work at a restaurant in the centre of my city as a waitress, which I love to do. Great colleagues, nice atmosphere, and a great way to meet new people. But long hours with no breaks or any food I could snack, very sneaky.. Only tiny cookies and nuts. So at the end of the day, after working my butt off for 6 hours strait, I’m almost dying because I’m so hungry. You know I’m exaggerating but it sure feels like it! And I can’t take that anymore, besides I am way tot tired after work to do anything productive anymore, such as schoolwork.
Working at my local supermarket would not only improve my monthly salary, but it also provides breaks when, for a change, I can eat proper food! Being a cashier doesn’t really require much movement last time I checked. Which means that I still have energy left after work, which of course would be spent on my homework, and most important, writing on my blog. This provides the possibility to work during the week for a couple of hours. I could already see my balance on my bank-account rising and buying that fabulous faux-fur coat and that woollen flappy hat which I’m drooling over for the past couple of weeks. So yesterday I received a phone call from the supermarket manager calling me about my job-application. After some small talk and making an appointment for the interview I hang up, and I wasn’t satisfied. That was because I wasn’t being called for the job I applied for, instead he asked me to do an interview for the job as the bread-assistant. You know, the one with the paper hat on (which doesn’t look like my flappy hat at all) and helps you pick out bread and bakes it everyday. But I said yes anyway.. ‘ Think about the coat, Jelske. Think about all the amazing things you can buy.’ I thought by myself. Besides I didn’t think it would be hard work, because every time I come by to fetch some bread, it sure as hell looks calm to me! But during my interview the manager stated otherwise. I was telling why I wanted to work there and not at my current job anymore, and I calmly said the truth and said that working as a waitress in a successful restaurant is really hectic and I want a job that I can combine together with my schoolwork. That I don’t want to come home from work being tired anymore. Apparently that was not what I should’ve said. Because he told me that being a ‘bake-assistant” requires a lot of energy and could be more hectic than my job at that restaurant. Instantly all I could think of was; well god damn. I screwed up. I thought I was saying the right thing and that I impressed him with my level of education and my ambitions but.. He said he needed to think about it, because it is a hard decision.. It’s a job at a freaking supermarket, I’m not applying to be the next assistant of Karl. I know the supermarket has a “reputation” to uphold, but I don’t think I’m less qualified for the job than the person after me with holes in his ears and the hairdo of Paul Stanley.. I don’t know.. I’m getting the news on monday. Hopefully it will be something good. I am still lurking on that cashier-job to open up. And when it does, I will be the first one that takes that darn place.

Utrecht Haul

It’s holiday and that is when I like doing nice things. Such as last thursday. I visited my sister in Utrecht for a good night out and shopping the next day. Enjoying old hits such as backstreet boys, nsync, etc. at Cafe ‘de Kneus’ is something I can erase from my bucketlist. After a couple Tequilla shots without salt… we started drinking wine and time past by.
The next morning we stayed in bed until half past 3 and watched a bad quality version of Twilight Breaking dawn part 2. Nothing is better than sleeping in and watching a movie under the warm sheets.
But we absolutely didn’t forget the sales at Zara (tip!). I got to use my giftcard for the greater good and bought some nice things. I also bought a red lipstick… hopefully I can pull it of!
Dutch.
